Thanks to Nirupam, the Editor-in-Chief of the Underwater Photography Guide, we’ve become acutely aware of the alarming lionfish invasion in the Mediterranean.

This ambush predator is not rare, but its coastal sandy-bottom habitat is under pressure from erosion, land run-off, human waste and reckless fishing.
